Meet Echo!

This little girl is going to have some gorgeous coloring.
She and her little sister Luna are still looking for a forever home.
How could anyone say no to that face?

IMPORTANT: Medical care tail docking, worming and vaccines

We only have 2 female puppies left
that do not have a deposit hold on them.

Call or Text Shani @ 435-680-3319
email: shanidutton@gmail.com

IMPORTANT:
The docking date has already passed for this litter. All the pups without a deposit and request to keep the tail intact by future owners have been docked. The puppies have also had their first vet check and will begin taking their worming medicine on Monday the 19th.

I will be using homeopathic noseodes, probiotics and holistic worming and flea methods on the puppies.
I personally believe synthetic drugs carry
to many risks for tiny babies.

After 10 weeks of age puppies start to loose the immunity they had from their mothers milk. They strong enough to handle vaccinations if that's your choice. I can advise you on homeopathic noseodes you can give your puppy to help them detox afterwards.

(Vaccinations and sterilization will be at responsibility and risk of the pup's new family.)

The right fit?

Our ACD/Blue Heeler puppies will be
sharp looking dogs with expressive personalites.

They will be vet checked, wormed
and come with a 1-year genetic health guarantee.

Will a heeler pup be a
good match for you?

Tail Docking

This is Apollo. He is a happy boy because he got to keep his tail. I know there is a lot of opinion about heelers and if they should have a tail or not. Ever since we decided to find a stud for Saydee I have been looking into this issue. Does it really prevent as much injury as tail docking proponents claim? Is there a health benefit or is it purely cosmetic? Is it needed if a dog is just going to be a family pet? I quickly learned that tail docking of dogs without documents proving their working dog status is illegal in the UK and AUS. I found this very interesting. When the day of the vet appointment arrived I had 3 puppies with deposits. 2 of the owners wanted docked tails and 1 wanted to keep his boy intact. I have been weighing the puppies everyday and I wondered if there would be any pattern disturbances after the docking.
Let me make something clear. I'm not judging anyone for their tail preference. I myself have a docked ACD. I grew up with a docked heeler and we docked her puppies. It wasn't until I was faced with the decision for these puppies that I really looked into the subject. As I've gotten older I've started doing that a lot. I hate doing things just because its the way it's done. I like to look into things and form my own opinions.
2 days after the vet appointment the puppy who got to keep his tail, (the 2nd largest puppy on that day) gained 10 oz in 2 days!!! He is now the heaviest puppy by 3 oz. My best guess is the other puppies were stressed by their operations and didn't eat as well as he did. I will continue to monitor him along with the other puppies and see how things go. All the puppies received a clean bill of health at their appointment. I will continue to chart their growth and milestones. It will be interesting to see how things go.
The point of this post isn't to shame people who dock their puppies, but to rather spark thought, study and discussion. Why do you like or dislike a docked tail? Is your dog going to be a working dog or a family dog? Is it right to remove something just because we feel like it looks better? I'm still considering all the pros and cons.

On a final note for this post:
I had a call this morning for 2 females. I missed out on a sale to a great home because they were docked. This is interesting to me because this whole time I've been thinking the opposite. That if I left them intact they would possibly be passed up.
 Maybe people are coming around.

Puppy Birth Video (beautiful and messy)

I was only able to record 2 of the births.

Puppies!!

Saydee surprised us by having her puppies 5 days early. I had noticed a few signs of labor like nesting, the pups moving down into her pelvis and a bit of discharge. I even thought to move her kennel to my room before going to bed Sunday night. But she wasn't breathing heavy and I still believed I had a day or 2 at least before they were born.
At about 5:AM on Monday the 5th I woke up and needed to use the restroom. As I groggily stumbled through the motions I had a thought enter my mind to go check on Saydee. I almost fell back into bed, but had a second thought to not ignore the voice. As I turned a corner down the stairs the tiny high pitched screams of a new born puppy rang in my ears. I quickly ran down to the closet under the stairs where the kennel is kept. I was met with a very confused and worried mama dog and one chilly and hollering puppy. I quickly let Saydee out of the pen and lifted her sleeping cushion to make sure there was only one puppy. I then moved the mama and pup to the Laundry room until I could get the swimming pool set up. My original plan was to set it up in the garage with a space heater. With the babies coming early there was no way to warm the garage up enough. The pool was to big for my laundry room so in the Living room it went!! Oh boy! Much better than television.
For the next 7 hours we were able to witness the miracle of birth. Saydee did an amazing job as a first time mama and knew exactly what to do. There were 7 puppies born total, but sadly we lost #6 (stillborn).
We feel very blessed to have 6 beautiful, healthy puppies. 3 girls and 3 boys.
Stay tuned for updates!

Are ACD's Heat tolerant?

Yes!! ACD/Heelers are made for the heat.

Aussie Heelers are said to be among the most heat tolerant of all dogs, and is one of the few breeds capable of working in the blisteringly hot temperatures common to the Australian Outback.  They are also famous for their relentless drive and energy, and are capable of tirelessly working for hour after hour.
This breed is perfectly suited for the desert region of the southwest, but don't be surprised if they trick you into thinking they will die if you don't let them come in and sleep on your couch!!!

About the breeder

Growing up I loved having an ACD as a family dog. For years I wanted one for my children too. 1.5 years ago I found my Saydee girl! She's such a beautiful and smart dog that we have people ask us all the time to let them know if she ever has puppies. When we found handsome Trigger boy we knew it was time to try for a litter. We are a family of 8 (6 kids) playing hard in the desert valleys and mountains of Southern Utah. We love taking our heeler along with us and know you will too!

I'm very passionate about feeding my dog grain, pesticide and GMO free dog food. I believe that healthy dogs are directly related to what they eat. I also give her vitamins, minerals and probiotics for good gut health. I use holistic methods for worms fleas and ticks. I always get comments from people on how shiny and soft her coat is. She is a very alert, healthy and happy girl. I intend to do the very same for her puppies when they get here.
